Marina Bay Living: Activities for the Entire Family

Marina Bay, and its surrounding Quincy neighborhood, is filled with great activities for the entire family to enjoy. The community offers the best of urban and suburban life, with the ocean right at your fingertips.

When moving here, visiting for the day, or meeting friends or family be sure to experience all that Marina Bay and Quincy have to offer. Here are some of our favorite things to do with our families:

The Boardwalk

Marina Bay features a thriving, Nantucket style boardwalk which features a wide variety of restaurants, shops, entertainment options, and bars. You can take advantage of the various waterfront dining establishments that offer indoor and outdoor seating, while enjoying delicious food  and  stunning sunsets  coupled with lively boating activity. You can also take the kids for ice cream at Cream and Sugar, or hop on a nearby ferry for a beautiful ride into Boston. Options to board a guided tour boat and explore various islands are available, or simply spend the day on the water with loved ones.

Historical Sites

The Quincy area is known for its numerous historical sites, perfect for family outings. The Adams National Historical Park showcases the birthplace of two presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams, and is only a short drive away from Meriel at Marina Bay. Here, you can also explore the former “Summer White House” and 13 acres of beautiful grounds. The Jason Holbrook Homestead is another area draw, just outside of Quincy, and includes memorabilia from the Revolutionary War.

Wollaston Beach

Offering more than just its’ sandy beaches and swimming areas, Wollaston Beach is equally popular for its jogging and bicycling trails. On Quincy Shore Drive, Wollaston Beach stretches 2 ½ miles down Quincy’s coast to reach Caddy Park, a recreational area with over 15 acres of fields.  These fields are equipped with a play area, a lookout tower, and picnic tables to accommodate gatherings of all kinds.  Activities including kite, arts, and car festivals as well as volleyball tournaments can be found here too, giving activities the whole family will look forward to.

Nantasket Beach

Located a short distance from Marina Bay and Quincy, Nantasket Beach is the perfect way to spend a sunny summer day with the family. A popular destination for residents and visitors, Nantasket Beach offers great swimming, biking, walking and picnic options. You can also take a break from the sun and go for a ride on the historic Paragon Carousel.

Boston Access

The joys of city life are just a 20-minute drive away. You and your family can visit one of the many sporting events in Boston or take in one of the fabulous museums, including The Museum of Science and The Boston Children’s Museum. Boston is also home to some of the best public libraries in the country and the Boston Aquarium is something all ages can enjoy.

Marina Bay offers visitors, residents, friends and family the best of both worlds. You can walk and explore the countryside, sip iced drinks on the boardwalk, or hop over to Boston for shopping and cultural excursions. Either way there is always something to do that the whole family will enjoy.
